  • Distance education refers to teaching and learning that takes place without the traditional campus classroom or on-site teacher. Many people choose to study in the comfort of their own homes, but distance education gives you the flexibility to learn wherever it is most convenient for you.

  • George Brown College offers distance education courses in a variety of ways. Our courses are offered online or as CD-based, DVD-based or USB-based distance with online support. The majority are offered online. Find the technology requirements for each mode of delivery on the Technology Requirements page.

  • Some of our distance education courses are semester-based. So, as with an in-class course, you generally need to register in advance of the course start date or shortly thereafter. But some of our distance education courses are continuous intake. A continuous intake course allows you to register at any time throughout the semester. You then have a set number of days to finish the course.
